Translate MSCI Research methodologies into rebalancing/maintenance automation using Core Java on Spring 2.x/3.x framework for MSCI indexes for securities. Work closely with MSCI Research team for upcoming MSCI Index methodologies and requirement gathering to design and develop MSCI Index automation in Core Java within the existing Index Calculation application/engine framework. Coordinated with Data Management team to establish new data points to enable data sourcing for index calculation engine. Provided requirements to UI team and validated implementation to enable end-users to run back-calculation of indexes. Development typically includes coding for Index rebalancing and maintenance algorithms for MSCI methodologies like Prime Value, Defensive Value, High Dividend Yield, EM Consumer Growth, Dividend Masters, Korea Domestic, etc. Used Guava API extensively for data structures and in-house developed math and statistics libraries to perform calculations. Developed Non-Regression test suite in AngularJS with Spring Controller for index calculation engine. Maintained by adding new test cases as and when development team adds or modifies index calculation methodologies in the code base. Worked on development of modular application components and configuration of modular data points in XML to enable new MSCI index methodologies to run calculations on modular design approach.

Server-side application development using Core Java on Spring 2.x/3.x framework in a multithreaded environment. Applications are related to e-Commerce credit - blotting and trading of inquiries of corporate/US treasury bonds’ market that are traded on NYSE. Responsible for requirement gathering from end users (typically Corporate/US treasury bond market traders within Nomura) and providing solutions to implement functionality that enables them to perform informed trading decisions. Make design decisions using Java design patterns to suite the existing application architecture of controller-workflow model based on actor-distributor design. Design constraints typically involve multithreading concerns, data structures, data processing in real time etc. Coordinating with various Electronic Clearing Networks (ECNs) - Bloomberg, MarketAxess, Tradeweb etc. to develop interfaces with these ECNs from which inquiries/orders of corporate/US treasury bonds are originated/processed. Application pool includes systems that process inquiries/orders, enrichment of inquiries with analytics/benchmark/position information, distributed data cache, post-trade downstream processes etc. Infrastructure and tools development of components that can be re-used within applications. Handled critical production issues and explained their analysis to traders. Typically involves coordinating with ECNs for data analysis and analyzing logs within Nomura systems.
