      • ICTL and OpticNet Research Groups (Electrical Engineering Department)• Field of research: Wireless and optical wireless networks; cell-free and user-centric mMIMO networks, UAV-assisted setups, FSO and fiber front/back-haul links, UWOC links, and indoor VLCDuring my Master's level, I first worked on the convergences of wireless access and optical wireless fronthaul layers for the existing mobile networks, i.e., 5G/B5G. The aim was to consider both layers and optimally allocate transmission powers and maximize the network’s spectrum and energy efficiencies, subject to limited power resources and hardware impairments. My focus was on cell-free and user-centric massive MIMO communications with FSO or RF/FSO fronthauling.Second, I worked on UAV-assisted underwater sensor networks based on FSO and UWOC communication links. The goal was to reliably connect underwater sensors to terrestrial control units in the presence of blocking marine objects and develop a retro-reflection-enabled tracking algorithm between the UAV and submarine relaying nodes. Finally, I worked on RIS-assisted FSO access networks for the next generations of high-speed trains. The aim was to decrease the number of serving access points, hence increase their coverage areas, and boost the network's achievable data rates by taking advantage of the well-known RIS technology. • Digital Communications Laboratory (Course ID: 2334011)• Duty: Developing SDR-assisted communication transceivers for IoT and V2X applications via utilizing GNU Radio and MATLAB software, RTL-SDR dongles, and USRP B210 modulesDuring three semesters, I taught the lab participants how to work with GNU Radio and MATLAB software to develop SDR-based communication systems with flexible design parameters for different applications, such as IoT and V2X. Also, I taught them how to check and make their developed systems better by using the RTL-SDR dongles for data reception and USRP B210 modules for data transmission and reception. Show less

I worked on analyzing the market and deployment policies of international mobile service provider companies for the upcoming telecom industry projects, such as small-cell networks, 5G and beyond, WiFi 6 (IEEE802.11ax), and AI in mobile networks. The project was conducted in collaboration with the ICT ministry of Iran, MTN Irancell, and Hamrah-e Aval (MCI). I worked on developing a remote sensing module as a part of a real-time IoT water metering platform from both software and hardware perspectives. My duty was to design the PCB of the module, program its processing unit based on Mbed MCUs, and develop its communication subsystem under LoRaWAN and GSM standards. • WiLab Research Group (Electrical and Computer Engineering Department)• Field of research: IoT-based smart systemsIn the last year of my Bachelor’s level, I worked on IoT-based systems and their applications for the next generations of smart platforms. My duty was to develop a distance-aware IoT system with a point-to-point topology, where its transceiver nodes were equipped with ZigBee, LoRaWAN, and WiFi modules. The goal was that each node optimally could choose a suitable protocol, i.e., short, medium, or long-range, based on the measured received signal power (RSSI) from the adjacent node, adapt its transmission power, and share the transferred data with the "thinger.io" monitoring platform. As my first official job in an innovative company, I worked on assembling electrical circuit boards of IoT-based smart gas stoves. At that time, I became familiar with different types of electronic components, their package types, and DIP and SMD assembly. Then, I learned how to design small-size PCBs for IoT systems and analyze their operations, subject to EMC/EMI tests. To achieve this goal, I utilized Altium Designer and Allegro software. Finally, thanks to my background in micro-controller programming, I developed different versions of the IoT boards' processing subsystems equipped with ARM LPC1768, STM8, STM23, and MBed MCUs.
