Perform laboratory test to produce reliable and accurate results to support scientific investigations. Prepare specimen samples to be tested within a 24, 48, or a 72 hour window to be sent back to client. Test Animal DNA and isolate specific genes to see if they are present in given samples. Correctly prepare liquid chemical reagents that are vital to process. Use LIMS to record and track all data throughout the process. Analyze sample plates, DNA plates, and ABI plates through each step of the process to ensure there are no errors. Know how to handle and change out any chemical reagents needed on instruments to complete the process. Calibrate and repair laboratory equipment when needed. Submit in depth indecent reports if there are human or technical errors in the process that could alter results. Stay up to date with SOPs and new procedures.
