TRIMONIT Secure IoT labelling and identification Problem: IoT, blockchains as well as AI offer solutions for a multitude of previous problems. The financial sector, industry and the entire public sector are dependent on developments in this area. But one problem has so far remained poorly solved in several areas, and even unsolved in some of them. Every physical object that needs to be mapped in the blockchain needs a forgery-proof, unique address that remains unchanged over the entire life cycle of the product. The problem is not in the software solution, but in the addressability of the physical objects that are mapped in the blockchain via tokens (tokenizing). Not every physical object has to be permanently connected to a system, but every physical object has to be uniquely identifiable by the system. Objective: TRIMONIT will produce and distribute a crystalline security element that is able to identify products, semi-finished and finished products or objects unambiguously, forgery-proof and over the entire product life cycle. The aim is to develop the necessary hardware and software environment, to encrypt the data generated in the process, to secure it via a blockchain and to make it available so that it can be used in IoT systems. The focus is on high-temperature environments, environments with high electromagnetic stress and environments with mechanical and chemical stress ("harsh environments"). TRIMONIT will enable customers to mark products in a tamper-proof manner where current systems fail or offer only inadequate solutions. In the future, this should also make it possible to protect those product groups from plagiarism where it is currently not possible and solve a problem of addressability in IoT systems. From December 2018, when there was still no talk of NFTs, but no one understood what they were needed for. Show less
