I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Kevin Plumb for over 20 years and have had great seats to watch him develop into a world-class media engineering and operations executive. I first met Kevin while he was an engineer at ABC in New York City at the start of his career. When I moved over to ESPN Production from ABC Radio 15 years ago, I was lucky enough to convince Kevin to do the same and he was smart enough to know it was the right move. Quickly the top tech folks at ESPN and Disney saw how capable Kevin was. He soon moved on from radio to lead several technology efforts for ESPN, including production and distribution systems like cloud playout and OTT streaming services, then the same and more for many global Disney Media properties. To me, Kevin's greatest strength is character. And right behind that is his ability to see around corners. He was always pushing us at ESPN Radio to take advantage of new technologies and move from radio to audio, thereby helping us sustain and grow a business that was struggling mightily in other quarters. It is no wonder he has moved on and up so quickly at Disney.
