  IMEX Group was an investment vehicle owned by the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the sovereign wealth fund of the State of Qatar. IMEX aimed to develop start-ups and invest in Brokers, Exchanges, Clearing houses and FinTech firms. As member of the executive management group, we secured a $400m investment to further the strategic development goals of the State of Qatar. We developed the International Mercantile Exchange (IMEX) in Doha, Qatar, a start-up exchange aiming to facilitate trading of Energy and Commodities. As COO I was responsible for business modelling and investments. This involved working with leading investment banks for strategic partnerships, and co-managing a bank consortium effort to launch a credit & fixed income trading platform in EMEA. Additionally we managed controlling investment into technology businesses such as Elysian Systems which was subsequently acquired by CME Group.
