Mar 2016 - Present
In 2016 I quit my job to travel the world, fell in love with Bali and swam with a sea turtle for my very first time! I discovered the healing powers of yoga and had a deep desire to make yoga accessible for all, no matter your body type. Thus, the brand mission of body positivity was born. PIYOGA offers an array of sizes from petite to size 24 for clothing and size 2 through 12 for our sterling silver rings. We also donate 10% of net profits to Sea Turtle conservation efforts and sustainable practices. Shop PIYOGA in person in San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles. Traveled across the UK to different universities to recruit students to volunteer abroad in South Africa, South East Asia, & South America. I traveled to the universities in London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Sheffield, Nottingham Leicester, Oxford, Norwich, and even to the universities in Swansea and Cardiff, in Wales. While traveling I was at each university for 3-4 days and during that time I would give 75 brief lectures to classes with over 500 students. On the last day I would host three of my own hour long seminars where I would educate the students about volunteering abroad, provide them with the information they needed to move forward, and sign students up for their own trip abroad. I taught the students about volunteering in places such as South America, South Africa, and South East Asian in places like Cambodia and Loas. Overall, of those who attended the seminar, 20% followed through and signed up to volunteer abroad. It was a very rewarding experience to use my presentation and influence skills to recruit volunteers. If I had gone abroad to volunteer by myself I am only able to make as much difference as one person can. Yet, by recruiting more volunteers I substantially increased our man power and ability to make a greater positive impact on the world. Show less
