I contributed to the creation and growth of the System R&D, a team counting up to 7 FTE, active in: • Power Plant Controller product development, from competitor analyses and project specs to commissioning support from remote• Inverter and plant modelling for grid integration studies (LF, transient stability, converter stability, energizations, harmonics and protections)• Full transition to Model-Based-Design and automatic conversion of Simulink models to the target hardware platforms and PSCAD• C-HIL lab setup with Opal-RTSince 2017 I have been giving industrial lectures at Politecnico di Milano, Università di Bologna and Politecnico di Torino.Since 2017 to 2021 I held the position of industrial advisor of PRedictive OPtization Heading to the Energy Transition project with Politecnico di Milano (>1 M€).Since 2018 to 2020 I was Single Point Of Contact with ENGIE Research (Laborelec, Tractebel and CRIGEN) for Smart Grid related projects (HIL, Microgrid Controls and EMS)

Main contributions: • Analitycal design of grid following and forming control schemes for VSC based distributed generators; • Benchmarking of "frequency bias direct droop", "phase bias direct droop" and "reverse droop" inverter controls in islanded mode; • Hierarchical management of an intentionally islanded LV feeder in presence of dispatchable DGs (microturbines and BESSs); • Tuning of reactive power regulator of a Synchronous Generator, either through small signal analyses and time enabled optimization; • Development of a reduction method for Active Distribution Networks useful for voltage stability studies; • Supervision of 2 MSc students in their final thesis.
