On a daily basis Cargill Refined Oils Europe makes use of multiple 3rd party service providers (e.g. logistics service providers and external manufacturers) as they are adding distinctive value towards their supply chain and/or services/products. In order to strengthen the relationships with their suppliers, ensure efficient-, effective- and pro-active collaboration, and maximize supply chain reliability I have developed a framework for measuring performance. The objective of this so called 'tool' is to develop a set of performance metrics (KPIs) that can be used to quantify collaborative supply chain performance outcomes, which have to be compared against performance targets, with the intent to guide and improve decision making to increase collaborative supply chain performance. Following this research I have acquired extensive knowledge on buyer-supplier relationships and performance measurement success. Show less

During my internship I have developed a so called 'Terminal Quick Scan' tool to evaluate the performance of a container terminal. The tool can be regarded as a roadmap which includes an Excel model that gives an in depth analysis on the performance of the different elements of a terminal. I have acquired a lot of knowledge in the field of containerization, which has contributed to having a good understanding on the complexity of today's global environment of transporting containerized goods.
