  Working at Damen's engineering department HSC & DFF (High Speed Craft and Fast Ferries). Developing lightweight (aluminium and GRP) ship constructions (mostly according Bureau veritas HSC rules). As structural engineer I'm using (next to the usual engineering programs) frequently FEM and CAD modeling software from Siemens (NX 8 and NX 8.5) for strength analisis.

  Working at the High speed craft (HSC) engineering department (composites team). I took place as a Structural design engineer in the composites team designing a new GRP superstructure for one of Damen Fast Crew Supplier vessels. In this job I build up the complete 3D model (using Siemens NX 8.5). This model stood base in the total design of it. During this job I took care of the general shape and also the structural details, in aware of the building strategy, GRP vacuum injection process, aesthetics and ergonomics. Many parts were heavily influenced by each others shape, which made modeling it complex. There for was needed a structured, pragmatic and a creative scoop to make it all work. Close contact with composite engineers and professionals from production made that the result is to everyone's satisfaction. Show less
