  My final position prior to my sabbatical was that of Senior Site Agent at Lone Rock. This encompassed the general responsibilities of managing simultaneous projects and worksite locations by overseeing the labor force; ensuring it’s efficiency, progress, and workmanship, as well as undertaking the supervision of in-house plant and bulk earthwork equipment. I was also responsible for all aspects of inventory control, stock management and the securing of necessary resources. Being able to successfully deliver these numerous tasks also involved working in partnership with other industry professionals such as engineers, consultants and project managers. My biggest achievement during my time at Lone Rock was the carriageway widening scheme in Soweto, completed in time for the upcoming National Election Campaign. As this was delivered 3 months before schedule, the project received an award from the Johannesburg Roads Agency. Show less
