I am working two days a week for the Esk Valley Community Rail Partnership. The role involves working with partners and businesses to raise awareness of the upcoming improvements to the Esk Valley Railway line between Middlesbrough and Whitby to improve ridership and promote the use of public transport. I am continuing with my demographic work as well. I am working two days a week for the Esk Valley Community Rail Partnership. I set up a self employed venture to provide demographic support and projections aimed at public sector planners. With my new job at NRS I will continue to maintain the links on my website, though I will not longer be available for work on challenging housing need. For further information, please contact me or visit my website www.demographicsupport.co.uk . I re-joined the CLIP Population sub-group as an Independent member 2017-2021, having chaired the Local Authority side for 10 years whilst at Tees Valley and hope to maintain contact whilst at NRS. I spent three years as a non-academic reader for the ESRC Grant Assessment Panel for the Secondary Data Analysis Initiative (SDAI). The role was to assess the value and usefulness of research projects from a user impact point of view. Show less

Provided demographic support to the Tees Valley LEP and the five Tees Valley Local Authorities in the form of Pupil Projections for Education, Population and Household forecasts for Local Plans and the LEP's Strategic Economic Plan, Ward boundary reviews for the Register Offices and was an avid collector of Administrative Data which was used to enhance nationally available data. I was an active link with ONS on both Census and Population methodology, presenting ideas and representing Local Government on ONS working groups as an expert user. I was part of the Beyond 2011 Independent Working Group that lobbied parliament for a continuation of the traditional decennial Census and gave evidence at the Public Accounts Select Committee in February 2014.
