  A division of the high profile Emirates Group, with resolute interests in establishing, managing and franchising an international portfolio of leisure and hospitality concepts. Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) was formed in 2006, an offshoot of the larger Maritime and Mercantile International (MMI) group whose primary interests rest in the distribution and retail of alcoholic beverages across the MENA markets • Director of ELR’s UAE, Australia and Oman companies. • Responsible for the entire spectrum of ELR’s retail operations, overseeing a portfolio of 14 franchised and own-brand concepts through 105 individual retail locations (UAE). Supported by 1100 management and service staff. • Full P&L accountability through 6 operating channels and 4 central support functions. • Management of the property portfolio and relationships with the key regional property developers. • Responsible for the identification, feasibility and Board approval process for capital investment in new outlet development and estate modification. • Responsible for the development and implementation of ELR’s corporate and brand marketing programs, aligning the company’s messaging strategies with appropriate media, database and target group communications channels.

  The middle east's largest alcoholic beverages group, representing major principals (e.g. Heineken, Anheuser-Busch, Moet Hennessy, Bacardi, Brown Forman, Pernod Ricard, Absolut, etc..) • Director of MMI’s UAE and Oman companies and of Heineken BV’s Gulf company, Sirocco. • Responsible for MMI’s Alcoholic Beverages and Leisure Retail businesses. Full distribution and marketing accountabilities across on-trade, retail, duty free and re-export channels. Representation of over 90 individual agency portfolios, with key principals including Heineken, Anheuser Busch, Moet-Hennessy, Pernod-Ricard, Absolut, Bacardi, Brown Forman and Torres. • Co-led the disposal of MMI’s periphery business units – FMCG distribution, Travel and Logistics – to strategic partner companies within the UAE. • Acquisition of majority shareholding in Abu Dhabi’s leading beverage distribution company • Acquired land and constructed / launched the Al Hamra Cellar, a warehouse style retail concept in Ras Al Khaimah. • Incorporated Emirates Leisure Retail, thus splitting branded Food and Beverage away from MMI’s core alcoholic beverage business. The objective of this split was to provide dedicated focus on development of the retail concepts, providing a platform for accelerated growth and profitability.
