Before my third year of studies, in January 2016, I worked at MMSA as a student. I gained important industry experience, as I got an insight into extractive metallurgy. I gained experience in the laboratory, trying to extract cobalt and copper from mine tailings from Zambia. I realized how important research is in any project. I also realized how many parameters and aspects needs to be looked at as an engineer. Before my third year of studies, in January 2016, I worked at MMSA as a student. I worked for Aqua Care cc, a pool maintenance company. During school/university holidays and during my gap year. This experience taught me the importance of the relationship between a company and its customers. Communication was a struggle, but a struggle from which I learned a lot of important lessons. Driving around, having my own set of responsibilities was crucial, as this made me realize that to achieve success in life, hard work was necessary.This was a great foundation for my career choice as a chemical engineer, as I learned how important chemistry was in practice.
