I worked for 6 months in the Hydraulic engineering department at SCE My missions were: - Studies of patrimonial and resource management of sewage networks in France (French national project RERAU) - Optimisation of sewage networks management and sewer mains replacement to save collective costs and reduce expenses for water management - Conception of a genuine tool supporting decision-making for sewage network management and sewer mains replacement adapted for small cities in France (under 5.000 people) to reduce network management costs The skills I developed: - I analysed and synthesised the relevant information of a very large project (French national project RERAU, 12-year long research project, €6 millions investment) - I summarised and prioritised all the information collected during past research, field research and making a good and relevant use of computer data - I developed my analytical and problem solving skills by optimising processes I did not know some months before - I developed my ability to take initiative and implement solutions in the tool I was designing - I developed a decision-making tool (on Excel-based tool, multi-criteria analysis with more than 50 input data and 40 decision matrices) - I convinced small cities’ council to adopt the new tool I had designed and asked for some feedback to make an even more useful tool for them – I developed my communication skills and my ability to convince Show less
