I had the opportunity to work with Pierre on different projects and I have always been impressed by his commitment and capabilities. He has not only great expertise and practise in the technical fields, but his curiosity and fast thinking allowed him to catch up with any new challenge. Furthermore, his mature personality and well-thought decision-taking have always been a great asset to all the projects we have undertaken together. I can only recommend Pierre for who he is as a professional and as a person!

Our data science team works towards harnessing and analyzing the collective intelligence outputs emerging from experts' interactions at the World Economic Forum. Our privileged methods of exploration and topic modeling rely on Natural Language Processing techniques combined with machine learning. Our end-product, called the Transformation Maps, is a publically available tool that helps people understand the complex and interlinked forces that are transforming economies, industries, and global issues

Exploring how techniques from advanced analytics and data science (machine learning, natural language processing, and network science) can enable the discovery of global emerging trends by scanning large amounts of text contributions in the form of news articles, peer-reviewed research, and event transcripts. Leveraging the power of data, programming, and synthetic thinking to disrupt, improve, and automate processes. Project manager for a worldwide survey with the objective to power the voice of young people in all countries.

During my post-doctoral research fellowship, I extended the scope of the work started during my PhD around the chemical composition of astro-particles. In parallel, I took over a leading Research and Development role in coordinating the fabrication and testing of prototype detectors for a new generation of scintillating fiber technology, to be applied to future space experiments. I also coordinated a team of teaching assistant for an undergraduate level course.

I was fortunate enough to join the Alpha-Magnetic-Spectrometer (AMS-02) collaboration in the final year of testing and validation of its detector before it was flown to the International Space Station (ISS) by NASA. This allowed me to dedicate my first graduate year on testing hardware components for space qualification as well as work to establish communication and surveillance protocols for the detector in space. Once onboard the ISS, I shifted my focus to the analysis of space collected data. My main research topic dealt with the precise measurement of the cosmic ray chemical composition. Such measurements help answer unsolved mysteries of today’s understanding of the universe, such as the origin of dark matter and the observed matter/anti-matter asymmetry. Aside from my research, I’ve been involved in multiple teaching activities, from Bachelor level teaching to scientific communication outreach.

The Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer is a state-of-the-art particle physics detector designed to operate as an external module on the International Space Station (ISS). The detector is operated from the ground by a team of experts monitoring thousands of health metrics related to the detector’s functioning in space. This is crucial to prevent any damages to the apparatus and to ensure the highest quality data for fundamental research. I spent over 4 years leading such operations at a special facility at CERN called the Payload Operations Control Center (POCC).
