Education writer
-
Oct 2004 - Dec 2013
I started as a freelance writer in 2003 mostly covering school board meetings and became a full-time education reporter when an opening arose the next year. I covered education meetings, issues, referendums, and school activities. I was also the Saturday reporter where I covered a variety of community events. I also worked on the in-depth Sunday stories and won awards including a national first prize for breaking news in 2009.
