Stormer Music is a music school that exists to provide a high quality and professional musical tuition experience for students of all ages, abilities and walks of life. We take great care to cater our lessons to each student, offering relevant and engaging musical knowledge and material in a variety of styles and instruments and providing practical live performance opportunities and events for our students to develop their craft. Our tutors are professional and experienced musicians, who have a genuine passion and interest in seeing their student’s reach their full musical potential. Stormer Music has three locations, one in Blaxland (Brooklands Shopping Complex), the second in Penrith (Henry Lawson Centre)and the third in North Parramatta (Castle St). Our studios are comfortable and equipped learning spaces, set out specifically for lessons and music. Stormer Music is open to anyone who wishes to develop and hone their skills as a musician.

Along with his performance career, Phil has had the privilege of passing on his craft and expertise to students of all ages, styles and abilities. Over the years Phil has taught hundreds of students in all sorts of styles and approaches, particularly in the Blue Mountains community of Western Sydney where he owns, operates and teaches at Stormer Music one of the largest and most popular music schools in the area.

We work exclusively with trained and professional musicians throughout Sydney and all of our artists are auditioned, coached in-house and prepared specifically ahead of every event. We are an all in one musical solution, with our artists completely across your runsheet, fully equipped with instruments and sound gear and with all logistics and planning sorted ahead of time with our team to ensure the details are done and the event is perfect. Musician

Phil Stormer is a guitarist musician hailing from the Blue Mountains, just West of Sydney. He is the son of a piano teacher and wedding singer and started playing guitar when he was just five years old, and really hasn’t stopped since then. Studying music through high school and taking advanced and extension music for his final year, Phil enrolled and completed his Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Sydney with double majors in performance and composition. Throughout this time Phil studied under many different guitar tutors and professionals working on his style and broadening his influence. Phil’s style can best be described as solo, acoustic, “fingerstyle” guitar. This is the style made famous by the likes of Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins, Merle Travis and Jerry Reed. Fingerstyle or Fingerpicking is a way of acoustic guitar music that uses the fingers of the right hand to play the strings rather than a pick. The style of music varies greatly and encompasses classical, flamenco, blues, folk and just about any other style. Phil is now a professional musician by trade, performing all around Sydney and NSW in a variety of settings – from outback folk festivals, to corporate events and functions, through to beachside wedding ceremonies. Phil has recorded and released three CD’s of original material and has collaborated on several award winning music videos. I've often thought about starting a blog, but have never taken the step (I suspect many people have this same urge) so this will be a journey for me, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes. The Blue Mountains City of the Arts Trust was established by Blue Mountains Council to support the arts in the Blue Mountains. One of the Trust’s key activities is providing grants to individual artists and arts/cultural organisations to deliver arts projects that contribute to the vitality and well-being of the community.
