I worked with Phill on a project some Time ago and found him to be very conscientious. He was always looking for different views and angles to get the best shots he can as a camera man

Tom Hesketh

I briefly mentored Phil during his first year of university on video production skills and have regularly worked with him since. He is a hard working, diligent, proficient and highly creative cameraman and photographer who has a genuine love for the craft. He very quickly went from having questionable shots to flawless ones due to his curious nature and genuine want to become a good cameraman. He is prepared to ask questions if he doesn't know something, and will practice new skills in his own time in order to improve. I since put my trust in him to work on the short film Blood Loyal as one of the camera operators in my camera team and was extremely pleased with his work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anybody.

I've had some awesome shoots so far this year and have recently taken on a wedding shoot. I've heard many freelancers saying to avoid them but I actually enjoyed every minute and have been taking the next steps to do more. With 3 cameras at my disposal now and investing new equipment each time I'm excited for the next one. I've had some awesome shoots so far this year and have recently taken on a wedding shoot. I ended up meeting one of That's Manchesters producers and he has been helpful and accommodating , in allowing me to tour the building and offer my support on shoots and behind the scenes with studio tech operators. Its a growing TV platform with a great team behind it and fabulous prospects for content in the future. Their operation will grow and grow I'm sure. I've been warmly welcomed into this company from the very beginning. I was offered the opportunity to support front of house and learnt a lot during the time I was there. I'm very interested in all aspects of production even though I prefer production. Being here has granted me the opportunity to see the inner workings of a broadcast TV post production facility from the tech room, server room, offline editing suites to audio dubbing. They're a pleasure to have been around and I'm thankful for the time spent here. Show less

This was the first company I volunteered my time in after returning from the states and it was time well spent. I was able to sit in with an offline editor and producer and discuss the work flow and process behind choosing case studies and contributors for channel 4 Dispatchers. I was able to see the process from production to edit and it gave me the initial taste to get back into working in Manchester and build on what I already know.
