A far reaching role with responsibilities ensuring vessels within the fleet are compliant to the Domestic Safety Management Code and Flag State rules including both deck & engineering departments. This role sees me act as the Designated Person Ashore & represented the Company at meetings both virtually and in person locally & at off site locations. Closely working with all levels of the Company both locally and at Group level along with contractors & suppliers to maintain delivering a consistent 99.8% service level, transporting 2.9 million passengers a year across a busy Commercial and Naval Harbour. Having just taken overall charge of our local engineering workshops, Gosport Ferry Maintenance Department (Clarence Marine Engineering Ltd) I now liaise directly with the Maritime Coastguard Agency and other parties to maintain our high standards & look forward to influencing change within the Company for the future including green technologies and one day the next generation fleet.
