Having already worked at POD in 2016, I was invited back the following year, giving me the opportunity to contribute to the design of their new website and also learn new skills such as SketchUp. Ultimately, this experience taught me the importance of being able to produce quality work, under pressure from short deadlines. I was given the opportunity to have a one month placement at POD, an architecture studio located within the Toffee Factory. This was a valuable experience as I was able to produce genuine work for clients such as Bellway and Story Homes. By combining the use of Auto CAD with my pre-existing knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, I was able to create a series of info-graphics to illustrate architectural site plans. The opportunity to briefly work at IDPartnership gave me a greater appreciation for the work ethic that is required to be successful, highlighting the transition between University study and employment. Working alongside a team of experienced architects gave me a great insight of what to expect when working to meet strenuous deadlines. It also gave me the opportunity to apply my skills of Adobe Creative Suite, such as InDesign, to create layouts of architectural drawings that could be used for brochures or presentation boards.
