While working for me at Brain Corporation, Philip proved that he could be both a prominent scientist / technical contributor and project leader on a complex technology project that involved the integration of novel computing hardware and software onto a quadrotor drone platform. Philip led a team that (to the best of my knowledge) was the first to ever integrate a state of the art system-on-a-chip from Qualcomm onto a quadrotor drone, demonstrating how these SoCs built for mobile phones could also be used to track visual cues and avoid upcoming obstacles with stereo vision on a working drone. Philip played the leading role in bringing the technology together, communicating with customers, setting the requirements for the project and managing the efforts of his technical team to get it all done. Philip embodies that rare combination of skills that everyone wants - deep technical knowledge, communication skills to address diverse technical and business people, and leadership and management of a technical team in an emerging business area.

CleverPet provides the mental stimulation that dogs crave. I lead the software team for this interactive game console for dogs. This includes a cloud framework (Google), mobile apps (native iOS & android) and firmware (photon: a micro-controller with wifi), IoT image processing (Linux, opencv). Building hardware-enabled software for a new consumer electronics is lots of fun! CleverPet provides the mental stimulation that dogs crave.
