Mr. Brasher has extensive knowledge of issues related to agriculture, food, rural issues, the poltical process, government bureacracies and much more. I always have found his writing to be clear and informative. Unlike many other journalists, I am always confident in speaking with Mr. Brasher that he is genuinely interested in getting the story correct.

Philip is a dedicated and knowledgeable reporter. His reporting from Washington D.C. gave the Des Moines Register’s Iowa audience an inside look into the agriculture issues that were going to impact their livelihood. Even more than that, he was a leader in national food and agriculture reporting, and well respected among sources and journalist alike. Phil was always easy to work with, and willing to explain complicated ag issues…even to a ag-novice like myself. He knew his subjects inside and out, was able to report on them in understandable ways, and do so on tight, demanding deadlines. I would work Phil again in a second.
