If you have a system to be developed in a ridiculous timeframe with insufficient resources, internal clients with competing budgets and agenda's and a large difference in work practices, you get Phil. I've worked in a lot of departments on a lot of systems, and ran a few development teams. Without Phil, we would not have been able to finish this project as required, and he started from scratch, not knowing anything about the company. There's not many who can relate work practices into database integrity, not many who can show the client how things can be done and they accept it easily, but Phil does this in a natural and pleasing way that I've seen management and key influencers not only rethink, but also to put their support behind Phil. This is because he gets it done, it works better than they imagined and it doesn't break down. One manager even said to me "I'm actually bored, it just works and I don't have to do anything about it, it's just awesome". If you've ever got the good fortune to work with Phil Watson, take it.

Have you ever seen a business solution you thought you knew everything about, and you got to a point of trouble, and everything you thought you knew said "there is no way there, this problem is unique, can't be solved, give it up, or lie on the technology"? Only to see someone solve that problem without a fuss. That is Phil Watson. When you think there is no way out, Phil solves it. This was my experience when we had Phil work for us in Total E&P Nigeria. The problems went away and are no more. The solution is reliable, no downtime, still working and you could almost forget it exists because it never gives any problem. If I had another job to give out, I will absolutely get this team back to do their great work again. I greatly recommend this professional, Phil Watson.
