Responsible for the oversight of all business unit IT management and operations including: strategic vision and long term planning/execution, management of IT staff and outsourced resources, direct communication with executive leadership, and IT operating and capital budget planning. Lead Engineer for IT Infrastructure and Architecture - Data Center / NGN Transformation, Windows/Unix servers, storage, Proprietary ERP Stack, and Telecom/Data networks. Accomplishments -Created continuous improvement plan with ITIL - root cause analysis, incident, problem management process that was implemented throughout the IT business unit. -Developed and Implemented a 24/7 service and support system to ensure our business units in separate time zones/regions receive quality support regardless of the local time. -Migrated Critical production systems to public cloud. The main challenge of moving to a hybrid cloud strategy was to keep our workflow and network design simple while leveraging the benefits of the added layer. This move drastically improved our scalability, DR, and availability that was necessary for our globally distributed workforce. -Redesigned the architecture and in the process eliminated 90% of the physical servers by virtualizing everything from Cisco UCS Phone system to WAN acceleration Modules. Redundant circuits were added for HA and aging systems were either upgraded, integrated, or decommissioned. This redesign resulted in a simplified infrastructure that increased efficiency and decreased downtime. -Championed a system based on Zero-based budgeting to justify IT expenses. This system has drastically cut IT expenses and has made future budgeting not only transparent but also more straightforward.
