I am responsible for : Staffing structures and management of senior logistics staff (both regional and national). Support response team leaders and other members of senior management team on best use of resources. Support strategic planning, proposal development and budgeting process. Offer logistics support to large, complex programs, with multi-sector responses. Provide remote assistance and management, management of multiple field bases or direct line management during emergency responses. Undertake senior deployments such as Country Logistics Head or country logistics manager as and when required. Year-on-Year decrements of Freight Cost for Unit by concentrating on utilization at origin. Managing annual freight tender process with the Procurement Dept., whilst maintaining cost savings and conducting bench-marking exercises throughout the year. Ensure Freight Costs per Unit within PO system are up-to-date and passing on margin benefits through consolidation at origin. Major Achievement: Successfully managed continuous reduction of Freight Cost per unit. Lead time KPI's were successfully achieved on bulk stock movements. Established a national freight pricing with major localized freight forwarders which resulted in saving the company around 12% on annual Road costs. Developed excellent working relationship with freight forwarders and helped establish key reporting tools related to customer invoice and landed costing’s. Introduced flexible work arrangement, shift changes helping to improve throughput by over 8% while reducing wage budgets by 5% by implementing just in time processes which eliminated double manpower handling.
