I have gotten to work with Peyton for 9 weeks straight and over these 9 weeks, Peyton was able to fully demonstrate his analytical approach in problem-solving and solution development. Peyton is an asset to anyone’s team as he finds ways to poke holes in certain ideas in a way that no one else would recognize without his help. He was a key contributor to our main ideas over the past three challenges. As a group, we would be going in one direction and Peyton would always be able to have a vision one step ahead of everyone else’s. With this, he was able to modify our process and ask the right questions to propel us in the right direction. In our first challenge together, Peyton was able to analyze and compare an already existing market to one we were trying to enter. He was able to see if what we had would be viable in a different market with similar characteristics. In my second challenge with Peyton, he was able to find a product that we could offer to boost sales for our challenge partner and was able to pinpoint why sales would be boosted based off current market trends and what has previously succeeded.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with Peyton for not only one, but two challenges in our entrepreneurial studies course. Peyton is a great asset to any team with his dedication and willingness to get work done. During our first challenge together Peyton had to miss a few days of class due to golf, however Peyton always completed the necessary work as soon as possible. Peyton even completed extra work to better his understanding of our project. These two small examples are just some of the various ways that Peyton showed his dedication to our project. During our second challenge together, each team member besides Peyton had to step out for a prior obligation, instead of using this time to relax Peyton scheduled an interview and completed it by himself. Peyton really took charge of the unfortunate situation and made the best out of it, in doing so he once again showed his dedication to the project. In addition, Peyton’s ability create a fun learning environment really helped our team and I stay stress free even during the toughest parts of our challenge(s). Peyton has always been a good public speaker, but throughout my six weeks of working with him, his growth has been clear. When presenting, Peyton communicates his team’s thoughts and ideas very well making sure to touch upon even the smallest details. I am honored that I had the opportunity to work with Peyton.

For the fourth and final challenge of the Entreprenuerial Studies Program at Hawken School, we were tasked with creating our own startup business. I partnered with three additional classmates, and used what we had in common to create our company. Something all of the members of our group share in common is that we are accomplished high school athletes, so we wanted to explore the idea of high school athletes coaching sports lessons. After validating that kids ages 6-12 avidly look up to Varsity athletes, parents would be interested in the product, and high school coaches would want to coach, we created our company, Ignite. Ignite is a website that allows parents the opportunity to book their kid a lesson with a high school athlete who specializes in the sport of the parent's choosing. For the third challenge during the Entrepreneurial Studies Program at Hawken School, two teammates and I were tasked with helping popular pizza chain Romeo's with their Sweet Smiles Foundation. They were looking for two things, a way to connect with the community, and a method of driving revenue. My team and I wanted to find the most relevant local issue, as well as create a way that can achieve Romeo's business goals. Please check out the slide deck and video of the presentation below! For my second challenge at the Entrepreneurial Studies Program at Hawken School, my three teammates and I were tasked with finding the target partner for a local startup, Fandem. Fandem is a business that partners with companies and creates NFT's for them. They recently landed a partnership with Glory Kickboxing, but our job was to find their next big partner. Our group pitched the European Handball Federation because of its large fanbase, and huge demand for player exclusive merchandise that we learned fans don't have access to. Over the first three weeks of the Entrepreneurial Studies Program at Hawken School, my three teammates and I were tasked with finding the target audience for a local startup, Time2Talk. Time2Talk is an on-demand Spanish tutoring app, that connects learners of the language to native speakers around the world. We pitched high school students as the target market for Marina Jackman, Co-Founder of Time2Talk, to pursue due to the strong demand from high school students we discovered regarding an app like Time2Talk.
