Counselling Student Placement
-
Feb 2023 - Jul 2023
Throughout my student placement at Headspace Canberra, I worked with clients from the ages of 12-25 who experience anxiety, depression, body image dissatisfaction, low self-esteem, low confidence, relationship problems as well as situational, behavioural, trauma-related and bio-psycho-social lifestyle factors. During my practice, I used a holistic approach of combined modalities from acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, emotion focused therapy, motivational interviewing and a strengths focused, person-centred, non-judgemental approach. From using the six session model at Headspace Canberra, I have experience in case management, solution-focused problem solving, assessing risks and in using the Orygen Brief Intervention Toolkit for youth care coordination and intake processes. From supervision and weekly meetings with the multidisciplinary team at Headspace, I expanded my knowledge of support services in the community and the mental health sector in Australia. Show less

Front of House team, Events team
-
Feb 2022 - Nov 2022
Working in the cafe, hospitality and events team was fast-paced and required me to use my initiative, learn quickly and effectively attend to the needs of others. My primary role in this position was as an all-rounder, engaging with customers, training new staff, taking orders, bartending, leading the food and drinks pass, clearing tables, cleaning, decorating, setting up events as well as doing stocktake at the venue. During my time here working for The Boathouse Group five days a week, I received a team member award for my customer service and work ethic. Show less

Families Ministry Coordinator
-
May 2021 - Sep 2021
My role at this childcare centre was as the Families Ministry Leader and Coordinator in Coogee, Sydney where the ABC TV show ‘Old People’s Home for Four Year Olds’ was filmed. The team, children and families made for a rewarding role to work in. Here I was able to engage with families in the community by designing flyers, posters, banners, lockdown activity packs and creating authentic connections with families and their children at preschool and before and after school pickup.
