Working with Petra for a year and a half was a joy. She is a person full of ideas, a go do attitude and has a great way of getting things done with an eye for detail! Adding much value and input to the team and to the community of The Melting Pot. It never felt I had to manage Petra - she would take tasks and run away with them.

Petra is an energetic, dedicated and motivated volunteer with a welcome "can do" attitude and excellent interpersonal skills. Her help throughout Aberlour's 2014 events calendar was invaluable and she was a pleasure to manage. Petra brought great ideas and practical support to the table for both our outdoor challenge events and black tie corporate dinners, proving her versatility and confidence as an individual. Her administration skills are well organised and she is pro-active in taking initiative to complete tasks within given time frames. Overall, I'd recommend Petra to employers who are looking for a diversely skilled and personable colleague, one who will bring enthusiasm, interest and many smiles to the rest of your team.

Eat Grim is on a mission to fix our broken food system by fundamentally changing the way people eat. Eat Grim is a platform for ugly and surplus organic fruits and vegetables. We source the produce directly from farms and bring it back into the food system in two ways: through a food box subscription that we sell to private consumers, making it easy to eat more sustainably, as well as selling Grim produce to food businesses that want to make their processes greener. Every kilo of food sold is a kilo of food saved, which also means savings in water, CO2 and land use along the value chain. Some awards & nominations include Eat Grim is nominated for Børn i Byen Award 2021 Eat Grim won "Årets Bæredygtige 2020" by Femina Magazine. Eat Grim is nominated as "Entrepreneur of the year 2020" by EY in the category Social Entrepreneurship - Future Impact. Eat Grim is nominated in the category "Best Startup" and "Best Climate Impact Startup" by Global Startup Awards 2020. Eat Grim is one of 5 finalists in the "Food and Agriculture" and in the "Best Startup" category of SDG Tech awards. Eat Grim is named one of the 50 most promising impact startups in the Nordic region by The One Initiative. Eat Grim is nominated for the Nordic Council Environment Prize 2019 Show less

As the Membership Coordinator I managed The Melting Pot's sales and marketing activities, including both internal and external communications, and I was responsible for various other matters in the day-to-day running of the business. I handled all membership enquiries and concerns, and managed the coworking space and resources. My role was also to provide support to the Managing Director in the planning and delivery of business development projects. The Melting Pot stimulates and supports social innovation. We provide dynamic resources for social change makers - our spaces and services enable people to work, meet, connect, learn, and hold events, all to make the world a better place. Show less

When I joined The Melting Pot, my task was to undertake comprehensive analysis on our product and service offering, as well as costing and pricing. As a result, we introduced changes that both reflect our customers' needs, and importantly are more cost-efficient. Following from this project, I also initiated collaboration between The Melting Pot and universities in Edinburgh to engage more young people and to get them involved in social innovation and social entrepreneurship. As a part of this 3-month internship I also produced a report on coworking in Scotland and the UK, which helped us make further analysis on our competitive position. Show less
