      - My initial mandate was to stabilize Foresters North American IT platform. The acquisition of a Canadian life insurance company and a significant change in go-to-market strategy from captive to independent distribution rendered the organization’s legacy systems and processes inadequate, disconnected and in an overall state of deterioration. Working with the board, I structured and negotiated a $182 million outsourcing deal that secured the skills, technologies and processes needed to stabilize operations. - With the technology deal and skills in place it was still clear that this change alone would not be sufficient to transform Foresters outdated back office. To bring scale and reduce insurance operations overruns a broader program of process redesign and system replacement would be required. Accordingly, I spearheaded the Foresters Invests in Transformation (FIT) Program to modernize Forester’s infrastructure, dramatically reduce unit costs for both policy acquisition and in-force policy administration and enhance the producer and member services platform to position the organization for growth. To date we have delivered all aspects of the program and have achieved 85% of the financial benefit. The remaining 15% will emerge over the next 18 months. - To ensure the success of the FIT program I launched the “One service Organization” vision. Under my leadership I consolidated the Foresters North American insurance operations, whose 1500 employees had been previously separated among three different reporting areas. Through economies of scale and redesigned processes enabled by FIT, I have reduced my allocation of expenses to the business by millions of dollars. Show less

      - Was hired with the mandate to grow the financial services group within Satyam. This group serviced all banking, capital markets and insurance clients on a global basis. Along with the demand creation (sales) I was also accountable for delivery of all services within the FS Group (4500 staff, 400-million-dollar business). To ensure growth targets were achieved I created a new “go to market. This Strategy was global in nature but respected the unique requirements for each of the different regions. (68% growth year or year achieved in 2007) - I quickly moved the sales cycle away from staff augmentation deals and towards deals that drove value through consulting and deploying company owned intellectual property. I was also able to create a very healthy reoccurring revenue stream from existing clients. This was achieved from designing solution based on transaction pricing, an early model of what is known today as software as a service (SAAS). Identified various partnering strategies, alliances and IP opportunities that increased the Satyam value proposition within the FS Vertical. Show less

      - Recruited to the Bank by the CIO as a thought leader in banking and internet technologies and strategies. My initial mandate was to lead a team of over 1000 employees through a transformation. This change would see the team transform from an internally focused IT shop to a customer centric consulting practice within the bank called Intek. With that I created the first integrated 3-year business & IT alignment plan for the entire domestic bank. - With service delivery working well it was now time to deliver thought leadership. To support this, I created the banks innovation team within our IBM outsourcing agreement. This team was responsible for the creation of the “branch of the future laboratory” within Scotiabank. - To ensure we had funding for the R&D I started and successfully managed Scotiabank’s Global ITO & BPO Sourcing/offshore programs in India. This program so us contract our spend with local smaller contractors and move that work offshore. This work saw us create greater capacity and skills but also save millions of dollars a year.
