I first met Pete very early in his career with IDL. I may have actually been his very first sale. I accepted his request for a walk-in / cold call one day when I was VP Marketing with Rocky Brands. I honestly was going to only give him maybe 10 minutes. He was fresh out of college, yet had confidence, a clear communication approach and a collaborative manner about himself. What impressed me that day -- when I actually gave him 90 minutes and three merchandising projects to concept / quote -- was his real-time ideation. We had never met before, he didn't know the nuances of our business, yet he had 6-8 really strong ideas to share.
