Peter's dedication and concern for the organization is extraordinary. As a CIO he understands the important role IT plays in attaining strategic business goals, but he also knows the critical need for a solid and reliable foundation of technology in daily operations. I have met few leaders in IT with Peter's drive, and he would benefit any organization to which he lends his considerable talents.

I am fortunate to be CIO at Westminster College, an institution that offers an exciting present and future as it nears its sesquicentennial as a Utah institution in higher education. The culture at Westminster is bold, with a liberal arts core that drives a practical approach that will be essential for all small colleges in the coming decade. Accordingly, the strategic opportunities for the adoption and use of IT are many and varied so as to present just the challenge I have sought for many years.

The Leadership Board for CIO’s was formed by The Chronicle of Higher Education and Dr. Michael Zastrocky in 2009. Since 2011, LBCIO is an independent higher education organization run by LBCIO members and Dr. Zastrocky. Dr. Zastrocky continues to work with the Chronicle on a series of sponsored Chronicle Webinars and a sponsored white paper analyzing the LBCIO survey data. The annual LBCIO global survey of higher education CIOs is now in its ninth year and provides insights into the strategic and tactical thinking of higher education CIOs and comparisons between types and sizes of institutions.
