  Expert Solutions, a Toronto, Ontario based company, was founded in 1986 by Dr. Peter Davies. Our primary focus is on assisting businesses with preparing their Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED, aka SRED) Tax Credit submissions.

  My background is in Mathematics (Ph.D.) and Computer Science (since 1964). My passion is in the development of applications of neural networks, particularly in the medical field and (currently) in finance.The business focus is in assisting clients with their SR&ED (aka SRED) tax credit applications. http://www.expertsolutions.ca. I am not taking on new clients but will continue to service existing clients in 2014.I am currently switching back into research and development mode. I completed the Certificate of Quantitative Finance (CQF) program in 2013, with an average mark of 94%. I did not do the final exam, since I wanted to concentrate on the projects. This was a good decision, since I learned the most in completing them. The area that appealed to me most in the CQF program was portfolio optimization. For the last few months I have been working on building a conservative, but potentially lucrative, portfolio for my own investments. I have started to implement it and it looks extremely promising, although it is too early to evaluate long term performance. Some time down the road, if it pans out well, I will be looking at taking it to organizations, such as pension funds, or even collaborating on a new fund. Show less
