Agathos is a fairly small software house with around 15 members of staff. Myself and a colleague were responsible for all 'non-application' issues or queries that customers raised. These could include: 1. Centos server a) additional software/package installs b) System boot problems (Hardware, GRUB boot menu, disk checking) c) Updates d) Monitoring log files e) Server hardware error lights or reported system issues (slowness, messages on console etc) f) linux administration (system date/time, add/delete users, passwords, customize .bash_profile when required) g) emailing/faxing from system command-line 2. Networks a) port forwards b) DHCP,DNS, QOS, NAT 3. Email server (SME server) a) install of OS b) usernames,passwords, groups, pseudonyms, domains b) backup and transfer of all user data and emails to a new server c) backup of emails on a nightly basis to another onsite/offsite server (rsync/sftp) 4. Windows/ Microsoft office issues a)Windows 2000 through to Windows 8. b) All queries reported (virus protection/removal, boot speed, system crashes, software installs/removal, Secure CRT install and issues. Outlook connection to our email servers (POP/IMAP/SMTP) 5. Nagios Monitoring a) writing new custom plugins (Check RAID, services running, disk space etc) 6. Backups (local and offsite) a) nightly rsync/sftp routine for backing up to other LAN/Cloud storage 7. VPNs/ ADSL faults a)Draytek IPsec with fail-over configurations to alternate ADSL lines. b)Freeswan running on IPCOP firewall c) ADSL faults (slowness, packets dropped, liaising with ISPs) 8. Printing to network/serial printers a) Linux CUPS/LPD/serial printing b) Windows desktop printing 9. Remote http/ssh access (ipads, laptops, phones, tablets) Most issues were sorted over the phone but I have had to attend site for issues which could not be rectified remotely. Show less
