TRAVELED 12-state Midwest Region servicing exotic bird aviaries in nursing homes, hospitals, doctor's offices, assisted living and half-way house facilities on a quarterly basis. I was based in Chillicothe, IL, and was responsible for stocking my van with supplies and parts and all exotic birds for each aviary on that week's route. MAINTENANCE required gathering all juveniles to return to "flights" back in Chillicothe (to fully mature before being placed back into aviaries), along with medicating the mature birds, trimming claws and beaks when necessary; cleaning and repairing the aviary structure, stocking the facility with bird seed and bedding.
