Serving as the senior submariner within Navy Strategic Command and as Head of the Submarine Profession, I led Navy's endeavours within the highly successful Submarine Enterprise during a period of unprecedented expansion in the uniformed submarine workforce as well as exceptional material and operational performance across the capability. My role was to advise the Chief of Navy on all submarine related matters, exert a positive influence on decision making at the strategic level and provide policy guidance and direction to those serving within or working to support the Australian Submarine Force of today and tomorrow. Our shared purpose was to generate and operate a potent and enduring submarine capability as the Nation's principle strategic deterrent.
