Employability Consultant
-
Apr 2015 - May 2023
The Poppy Factory Ltd is an independent charity which was founded in 1922 with the object of providing paid employment opportunities for disabled ex-Serviceman and woman. A factory was established in Richmond to make poppies and other commemorative items to achieve this purpose. Whilst the charity continues to provide paid employment through it's Factory for disabled ex-Servicemen and woman, it also has a dedicated team that sources meaningful, sustainable jobs, training and work experience. After volunteering for the Poppy Factory's ''Getting You Back To Work'' programme for 12 months, I was very lucky and privileged to be offered the opportunity to be part a dedicated national team supporting veterans with health conditions or impairments into meaningful and sustainable employment. Our client case load is small and manageable, which allows the employability consultant to give a one to one bespoke service to the veteran. Show less

Aug 2014 - Apr 2015
I currently work on an individually tailored personal development programme for young people aged between 13 and 25. Through one-to-one support and group activities I help marginalised and disengaged young people who face a range of issues and barriers in their lives including mental health, behavioural and confidence issues. I empower them through introducing them to positive opportunities and experiences to help them re-engage with society. Additionally I liaise with agencies and organisations to enable clients to progress towards employment, training, education or volunteering. Through utilising my military networks I have developed a military ethos course for the Princes Trust in partnership with the local brigade which has been recognised as best practice and is currently being implemented nationally.
