In this role I was contracted to pull copper and fibre cable to different locations within the West Midlands and Wales for Carillion Telent & BT, this includes completing CT & BT paperwork to the essential standard for these companies, such as, A55 drawings, box to box diagrams and all necessary paperwork included in the job pack. Part of this role requires using maps of the job site to coordinate the work in the most efficient way. Whilst working at CASS I have been part of the Endevor Project which has allowed me to gain experience in upgrading cabs from Quante, PC100’s and Krone (this list is not exhaustive) to the new tooless modules, within the West Midlands. Within this time, I have also gained an accreditation on the DSLAM cabs for Huawei. As I am self-employed in this role I have developed my skills in being able to use my own initiative to make informed decisions as well as working a part of a team. On the daily basis I would have to complete risk assessment of the sites to ensure that the work space was compliant with health and safety and highway regulation. Show less

In this role I was contracted to pull sub-duct and manifold tubing to supply fibre to different locations all over the UK for two major contracts for Virgin & BT. As this role was based in several different areas of the country, part of my role was to navigate driving routes to different sites as well as using maps of the job site to coordinate the work in the most efficient way. I also used to deputise as team leader as and when needed. This allowed me to develop my team leading skills as well as being able to make informed decisions. On the daily basis I would have to complete risk assessment of the sites to ensure that the work space was compliant with health and safety and highway regulation. Whilst working at Map I have gained many skills and experience in the telecommunications industry. Whilst working at Map Ltd, I also had time working and gaining experience in the civils team. This consisted of reading A55 drawings and using a CAT & genny to find the location of blockages and duct work. I also developed my skills in helping repair the duct after the blockage was clear and the cable was in. Show less
