Designed the ASC McLaren Mustang, my first car to go into production. Heinz Prechter, the CEO of ASC (American Sunroof Co. at the time) was so impressed upon viewing the Mustang, that he immediately bought the rights to build the car for production with Jubbu Engineering handling manufacturing and production. In 1981 I began work on a unique convertible top mechanism which would later become the “bi-fold outwards design”, which I patented. General Motors was looking for a supplier to build the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird convertibles and ASC won the contract using my top and body design. Chevrolet, alone, sold over 100,000 Camaro convertibles during their production run. As a result of the success of the Camaro and Firebird convertibles, I began to get work directly from the car companies, thus becoming a true OEM supplier. Projects included: a Mercury Cougar convertible, GEO Metro convertible, Yugo Cabrio, Fiero convertible, Mercury Capri two seat sports car, Chevrolet Cavalier and the Pontiac Sunfire convertibles, Hyundai Scoop and Tiburon convertible concept, Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible. I also did engineering projects for Porsche, Cadillac, Ford, Proton and Lear, among others.
