Peter is one of the original founders of Greenhill Australia (www.greenhill.com), a leading Australian corporate advisory firm which is now part of the global Greenhill advisory group. The business was started in 1999 under the name Caliburn Partnership (with Peter holding 50 per cent of the voting shares) before being sold to the US firm Greenhill in 2009. At Caliburn Peter was initially Joint CEO before becoming Executive Chairman in 2002. Peter continued as Chairman after the sale to Greenhill until resigning from the firm in April 2019. Peter advisied local and multi-national companies and governments in Australia for over 35 years. Peter was a founding member of the Adara Panel and also Chairman of Cambooya Services Pty Ltd for the Fairfax Family from 2010 through to 2017. Peter was a member of the ASIC Advisory Panel between 2009 and 2012. In the not for profit sector, Peter is Chairman and co-founder of Mind Medicine Australia, co-founder of the Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter, founder and a director of Women's Community Shelters and a director of Project Rozana. Peter is also a member of the Advisory Councils for the Monash Sustainable Development Institute and Grameen Australia. Previous roles have included Chairman of So They Can, the AMP Foundation, Grameen Australia, Grameen Australia Philippines and the Australian String Quartet, Trustee of St Vincent’s Clinic Foundation, Trustee of the Anindilyakwa Mining Trust for the traditional owners of Groote Island and a director of Odyssey House and the St James Ethics Centre. Peter speaks extensively on the implications of accelerating technological change on the business, government and the social sectors and on the importance of developing a paradigm shift in our thinking as traditional operating models become more challenged. Peter was made a member of the General Division of the Order of Australia in 2010 for services to the philanthropic sector.
