AIMs mission is to educate, inspire, and connect communities, responsible farmers, and producers as part of a healthy, earth-friendly, equitable local and regional food system. At the Agricultural Institute of Marin, Peter wore many hats while managing the operation of 7 of the San Francisco Bay Area's top farmers markets, including the management of 12 staff, collaboration with nearly four hundred vendors, and public relations with tens of thousands of customers. His daily duties ranged from cleaning public restrooms to meeting with county supervisors and advocating for the small family businesses that AIM helped incubate. Peter launched a mobile farmers market food truck, aimed at supplying underserved communities with affordable, healthy, and culturally appropriate food options. He served as a member of the Marin Food Policy Council, and worked with board of supervisors to pass a resolution drawing attention to the inequities and hunger present in the county's food system. Peter made presentations to the board of directors and facilitated tours of the organization’s various programs to potential donors and legislators. Peter was an integral member of the team that initiated and successfully passed a ballot measure allowing use of county lands for a permanent farmers market location. Finally, Peter supported the Executive Director and Development Director in a capital campaign to raise money for development and pre construction costs for the aforementioned permanent farmers market.
