Bio
Christopher Sacco
Peter and I have worked together since 2007. When I met Peter, he was the Vice President of International Program at World Neighbors. What impresses me most about Peter is his heartfelt solidarity with the people he supports through his work. Peter has contributed more to the people-centered development paradigm than anybody I know, and as a co-founder of Groundswell International he is proving to be in invaluable ally in driving grassroots social change. I highly recommend Peter to any organization seeking to shift their approach to one that truly supports communities and people as the drivers of change from the bottom up.

Jan 2010 - Present
Responsible for strategic leadership, action research, advocacy and program development in West Africa in support of agro-ecology. Groundswell International is a partnership of local organizations and their network of grassroots community groups. We work in West Africa, the Americas and South Asia. Our programs catalyze the transition from unsustainable agriculture and extractive economies to regenerative, just farming and local food systems. Communities and family farmers improve their well-being, produce more abundant and nourishing food in ecologically sustainable ways, increase their incomes, build resilience to climate change, and strengthen local economies and cultures.
