Experience / Responsibilities:• Responsible for structural design and verification of multifaceted steel structures that formed part of the Production Engineering Departments responsibilities. Projects include mechanical jigs and fixtures, lifting & transportation arrangements, manufacturing of working platforms and walkways, all to support the build of the Astute and Dreadnought class submarines. • Design engineering experience on production jigs supporting over 200tonne & the fabricated steel structures to support manufacturing activities. • Experienced in the design of bolted and welded joints in accordance with engineering codes of practice.• Experienced in producing 3D concept design models and 2D detail design drawings using a range of CAD software. • Experience in static and dynamic modeling of structures in Abaqus CAE. • Review & creation of engineering, design & departmental instructions, policies & user guides for the Production Engineering Department. • Responsibilities as a Senior Engineer involve checking technical calculation reports as well as design drawings for structures for manufacture.
