I worked with Peter for several years on the same projects at Thales Australia where I was the Design Authority, delivering ICT capability into the Defence sector. Peter is a very capable Systems Engineer and he has the ability to make effective, positive contributions across the engineering lifecycle, where he always applies best practices. His structured formal systems engineering approach to managing requirements from definition to sell-off greatly helped in establishing a successful engineering process. When designing solutions, he communicates his reasoning succinctly and always considers design constraints, technologies and user needs carefully, researching topics thoroughly when required. He uses developmental testing effectively to refine design concepts and provide decision makers with the right data to decide on the right courses of action. He builds and maintains relationships with customers, suppliers and co-workers very effectively. He is able to manage stakeholder interactions in a variety of ways to ensure he achieves the desired outcomes. He collaborates with his co-workers well and is happy to share his experience, but also utilise others experience to support his work. His technical report writing and presentation skills are excellent and are supported by his engineering knowledge. I would not hesitate to work with Peter again in the future, given the opportunity.

I had the pleasure to work with Peter for 6 years at Thales Australia. He was transferred from Thales Optronics UK to help us grow our Optronics business. Peter persistently exceeded expectations as he consistently delivered outstanding results both technically and commercially. He quickly became a key player by demonstrating sound technical knowledge and a capacity to learn quickly. This was essential to successfully expand our product portfolio and develop new support services. He directly contributed to build a unique maintenance facility that now supports many different types of Optronics products in Australia. During his time in Australia Peter had the opportunity to learn more about the Systems Engineering discipline and was quickly able to apply it independently. Within a couple of years he was able to manage entire development projects from requirements capture to successful delivery and support. He would also often support our sales and marketing team, managing product demonstrations and exhibitions. By the time he left I had given him the role of Systems Engineering Manager, overseeing a number of transfers of technology programs. Peter was a major contributor to the growth of our business thanks to his excellent technical knowledge, social skills and understanding of Systems Engineering. He is a very agreeable and friendly person with great ethics, which helps him easily gain the trust of his peers. He can navigate complex projects and situations with a clear head, a calm and positive approach and a great sense of humour. I would not hesitate to have him back on my team.
