  Recently, I completed more than 50 days of Practical Legal Training placement at Barwon Community Legal Service (BCLS). Through this placement with BCLS and a prior internship at the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), I have developed skills in drafting correspondence to clients and on behalf of clients, to other legal professionals, to agencies, such as Centrelink, and to health professionals, such as General Practitioners and Psychiatrists. Having worked in education for more than thirty years, including about half that time in Student Management roles, I have developed strengths in liaising with families, colleagues, outside agencies and other stakeholders. The transference of these skills and the development of them to a legal format has been a positive and affirming process. Show less
