      Peter headed up Abacus development projects for the group and their joint venture partners.       The Chifley Tower Project: Peter was appointed Project Manager on the $1 billion Chifley Tower project when Kumagai purchased the development from Alan Bond. Kumagai required a Project Manager with a construction background to manage the consultants, including International Architects Kohn Pederson Fox, Australian consultants and Builder for the project Multiplex. Peter’s role also encompassed the coordination of the marketing and leasing of the Tower and Retail with the leasing agents. This included successful lease negotiations with tenants such as Bankers Trust, 30,000m2, Allen Allen & Hemsley 28,000m2, Morgan Stanley, Australian Security Commission, Tiffany & Co, and other international and local tenants. MID appointed Peter to Project manage their office fitout, also Australian Olympic Committee, Level 41 Restaurant, Brasserie Cassis, Tiffany & Co, Nina Ricci, Bottega Veneta and other local retailers. 135 King Street, Office tower and Glasshouse Retail Centre project: Kumagai developed this 35-storey office and retail centre when Australia was going through a major development boom in the mid 1980’s. The project was completed and fully leased out regardless of the significant competition from other competing office and retail developments. Peter was the Project Manager for the project responsible for leading the project team, including internal managers, Architects, consultants, Engineers, and $100million contract with Concrete Constructions. Peter’s role also included managing the commercial and retail leasing and tenant negotiations. Tenancy management and legal coordination of the office tower and retail fitouts Other roles carried out for Kumagai included conducting feasibility studies and market research reports for the purchase of potential multi million dollar developments around Australia and site and building disposal when Kumagai exited Australia in the mid 1990’s
