In this role, I work within our Aged Care homes as a Facility Manager (Burwood home – 18 months, Miranda home – 6 months), offering person-centred care to residents. As a Group Leisure & Lifestyle Manager for the Jesmond Group, I managed the Diversional Therapy needs of 300+ residents, as well as Aged Care compliance, and management of Leisure & Lifestyle teams across 4 nursing homes.Duties included:▪ Oversee all resident care (social, wellbeing, spiritual, diversity and cultural needs) and liaise with families regarding individual requirements, so that we can tailor our care for residents.▪ Provide monthly reporting to the senior management and Board on each home's compliance with the new Australian Government Aged Care Standards, as well as regular updates to the COO and CEO. ▪ Provide support and work closely with the group’s Facility Managers and their teams, assisting all homes to prepare for Aged Care Government Auditing and Quality Safety Commission visits. ▪ Manage day-to-day operations for a multi-disciplinary team of up to 90 direct reports, including HR, administration, reporting, budget management, coaching/mentoring, learning and development. ▪ Undertake site risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance across the Aged Care Standards for the group. ▪ Work with our Group Quality and Compliance Manager to produce policies and procedures that align with our Clinical Governance Framework and government legislation. ▪ Develop and maintain the Jesmond Group Cultural and Linguistic Diversity (CALD) and LGBTIQ Action Plan 2019-2020. ▪ Ensure that the individual cultural, spiritual and diversity needs of residents are met, working with a diverse range of cultures, including Australian, Arabic, Burmese, Chinese, Croatian, Greek, Italian, Indian, Russian, Sri Lankan, Slovenian and Vietnamese. In this role, I managed the Diversional Therapy needs of 116 residents of an aged care facility, including high needs dementia residenta, for Allity's Redleaf Manor in Concord. Duties included: ▪ Coordinated daily operations for a team of seven staff, as well as working in conjunction with our Registered Nurses and Care Managers to assist with management of up to 20 nursing staff per shift. ▪ Undertook all reporting for the General Manager, producing weekly, monthly and annual reports. ▪ Successfully introduced and implemented a new spirituality program and an inter-generational program within the home, linked to and involving the local community. ▪ Built networks within the community, including a new volunteer program, art therapy, music therapy and dementia-specific programs. ▪ Worked closely with the Marketing Manager and Operations Manager, assisting with home occupancy rates and marketing campaigns, as well as other special events held within the home. ▪ Responsible for the meticulous record keeping and care plans for all residents, documenting their non-clinical needs, in accordance with the Australian Aged Care Quality Standards and the Redleaf Manor accreditation. In this role, I was responsible for delivering ‘Person Centered Care’ within the Marion Aged Care Community and Residential Home, ensuring that the needs of all residents were being met.
