Fangyi Zhu „I worked with Pete on The Lantern Project (formerly Seattle Against Slavery) where he manages the entire stack of an anti-human trafficking product mostly by himself as a senior developer and product manager. From the web application (Ruby on Rails) to the serverless backend (AWS services + MongoDB), he designed, implemented, code reviewed, tested, and deployed code on every aspect of the product. On top of that, he served as the mentor to me and my fellow volunteers and tech support for the customers. As an engineer, Pete demonstrated extraordinary discipline and attention to detail for such a small organization. His code is clean, readable, and thoroughly tested. The infrastructure design decisions he made were scalable and cost-effective. He gave thorough, meaningful, and kind feedbacks in code reviews. I very much enjoy working with a well-rounded engineer like Pete and would like to cooperate more with him in the future.
