Systems Test Manager - Mobile Model
-
Dec 2005 - Oct 2007
Initially the role required gaining confidence of Telecom NZs preferred vendor (Alcatel-Lucent) which developed into a very successful working relationship with Alcatel-Lucent Project Managers, engineers and management team nationwide. Responsibilities included making sure the Mobile Model was maintained, ensuring the correct level of response for first line repair was provided by on site Alcatel-Lucent engineers. Also responsible for making sure that requests made for use of the mobile model were in accordance with an ISO9000 accredited system. Responsible for looking over requirements for model usage and setting up the correct testing environment, ensuring access to multiple billing systems and connectivity to Telecom’s ‘fixed line’ model network were made available as requested. By instigating weekly meetings with Alcatel-Lucent key personnel I ensured any potential conflicts for model usage were identified and resolved prior to escalation. Also maintained a high profile within the model to ensure correct practices were advised (where necessary) and adhered to for all model users’ comfort and safety. The role also involved infrastructure management ensuring increased connectivity to cater for higher demand of network access both Telecom internal and world wide web. Within the model environment forecasting expansion of E-1 capability to comply with future convergence of mobile and IP based platforms. Duties also included providing tours of the mobile and PSTN model environments and where appropriate extending the tours to the ‘live network’ environment and providing a ‘floor by floor’ commentary on all infrastructure and property within the building including the very large MDF/IDF patch frames and stand by electrical generators. Was also responsible for scoping for and securing infrastructure and ‘floor’ space’ in preparation for the new Telecom XT model build. Show less
