Pete is the quintessential people manager. I've known him 30+ years. I was his first technical lead and watched his well deserved meteoric rise in IBM. He has a command presence that automatically places him in the lead position, yet he is accessible, open, affable and impossible to dislike. Pete is also an excellent technologist, having introduced powerful additions to the Personal Computer as well as products and services across the whole IBM line. It is rare to find such strong technical and leadership skills in a single individual. Consequently, I jumped at the chance to work with him after we both retired from IBM and would again in a heartbeat. He is the most rewarding person to be around.
